About Don’s Custom Countertops
Since 1981, the heart of Don’s Custom Countertops is family.
Don has been in the kitchen remodeling business for over 4 decades and continues to actively manage his business. You might see him helping customers, working on installs, doing design work or even geared up in the spray booth getting a cabinet door’s stain just right. Don works alongside all three of his children and his wife on a daily basis. His wife, and the co-owner of Don’s Custom Countertops, Heidi, has overseen bookkeeping, behind the scenes management and more for over 31 years. Don’s son, Haden, focuses on sales and design. Don’s youngest son, Heath, uses his engineering background for programming and data management and his daughter, Haley, recently joined in the family business taking over bookkeeping and marketing responsibilities. Don’s brother, Dennis, has worked full-time at the shop for over 25 years, focusing on sales and design. Don’s nephew, Tanner, also works as an Install Technician at the shop.

In addition, the rest of our team consists of knowledgeable professionals who specialize in areas like production, installation, sales and design. We have strategically built our team with quality employees and trade partners who share our values of respect, honesty and quality craftsmanship. Don’s Custom Countertops is proud to have served the front range area for over 42 years and continues to connect with the community through ongoing volunteer work at their local church and several past high school sports sponsorships over the years.

Our Story
In the late 70’s, Don worked for a cabinet company that abruptly went out of business, leaving one customer with a partially finished kitchen. This customer asked Don to finish their job for them and then began referring him to their friends for their kitchen and bath projects. This was how Don’s Custom Cabinets was born. Heidi, Don’s wife, joined the team and they have been growing the business together ever since. Don’s Custom Cabinets and countertops started mostly with cabinet re-facing and custom cabinet fabrication, then laminate countertops and acrylic countertops and now has grown to specialize in a variety of countertop materials and a full spectrum of cabinet options. As the shop specialty changed, the name grew to include Don’s Custom Countertops. Now, 40 years and over 8,000 kitchen and home projects later, Don’s Custom Countertops still operates on the customer respect, honesty and the true enthusiasm about our projects that got us up and running from the very start.
